As many of you know, I am currently being targeted by a right-wing White supremacist group called Young America's Foundation. They are a group of predominantly White people, with a minority group of Black and other non-White members. Recently, they posted a clip of my UCSF presentation and talk (given last Thursday, February 8th, 2024) on their Twitter/X account.
The clip featured misrepresentations of my work and statements which were taken out of context almost entirely. Since the video went live, it has garnered over 500,000 engagements. Fox News and other media outlets have picked up the story and have written about it. I have and continue to receive death threats, threats of violence, and very vile and perverted sentiments from White people.
I am sharing this with you so that you can both see and understand the magnitude and nature of my experience right now. My team has collected screenshots of incoming "Contact Requests" which are typically submitted by institutions and/or people who are interested in having me speak at their organizations. These people have co-opted this tool to submit hateful messages to me. I am posting them here.
