During the TFAM Conference, I had the honor and pleasure to meet Dr. Marsha Foster (daughter and only child of the late, great Dr. Marcus Foster, the first Black Superintendent of Oakland Public Schools). Dr. Marsha Foster, who I now affectionately call #AuntieMarsha, spoke encouragement and inspiration into my life.
As you will see in the video, she told me that my workshop went beyond teaching; that I was “crafting experiences.” #AuntieMarsha is a wonderful person, and I am so glad that we were able to connect as a result of the session, and that we were able to spend several hours together afterwards.
Her father, #DrMarcusFoster, will be honored for his legacy and memory at the African American Museum and Library in Oakland California (AAMLO). The exhibit will begin July 31st, with an opening reception being held on August 3rd, and will continue through November 2023.
Please come out, support, and make a donation to AAMLO.
See you there!!
