Last week, I was blessed 🙏🏾 to attend the 26th Annual White Privilege Conference (#WPC26), led and hosted by the incredible Dr. Eddie Moore and The Privilege Institute 💥. This year’s gathering took place in Hartford, Connecticut 📍—and the overall experience was absolutely incredible 🔥🙌🏾!
I was honored to be invited as the closeout keynote speaker 🎤 for the conference.
In addition, on Wednesday, March 26th, I led an all-day institute 🧠🌀. I was fortunate to share space with 10–12 deeply present and powerful attendees who helped create something truly sacred ✨. We examined, analyzed, and transformed—together. I cannot, nor will I try to fully articulate what we experienced 💫—only that it was life-changing 💎.
Then on Thursday, March 27th, I facilitated a 90-minute workshop 📚💭 attended by 60–70 people. I had no idea so many would join—and yet, it provided an opportunity to spread the message even wider 🌍. Another transformational, soul-stirring encounter happened in that space 💥.
On Saturday, March 29th, I had the immense honor of closing out the conference as the main keynote speaker 🕊️🔥. Some who were present texted me later to say the keynote was “electrifying,” “riveting,” and “powerful.” ⚡🎇 I had the pleasure and honor of being introduced by my dear friend, Dr. Robin DiAngelo.
One unforgettable moment: I met my sister Treda in person for the first time 💜. She stood up in the church where the keynote was held and shouted, “You are preaching!!” and “You are letting US (Black people) know we are not crazy!!” 🗣️✊🏾🖤
To all the #Diagnosers who attended my sessions and keynote: your presence, souls, spirits, hearts, and minds blessed me tremendously 💖. Only you know what we shared. This experience meant more to me than words can ever convey 🕊️🙏🏾.
I am simply and deeply grateful for the calling that’s been placed upon my life—and for the people I’ve been blessed to meet and connect with along the way 💫🤎.
Delta sent pictures. I'm jealous that she could be there. I know that you blew the winds on fire in the house and let the truth burn lies up! I look forward to attending an event in person. I pray blessing and safety over you as you go forward with this message and topple the house of cards that is whiteness and anti-blackness.
Dante, I have very few words for my entire experience at the first WPC I’ve attended and absolutely NO words for how your presentation at the all day institute and your keynote impacted me. Life-changing. I guess that’s two words.
Having spoken only minimally, I’m learning very quickly how resistant those around me who have been socialized as white are to receiving this diagnosis. It’s much harder for people to talk about nonfiction than it is to talk about narratives of self. Nonfiction is so much more dangerous to face.
Keep on keepin’ on! And breathe. And hydrate. And be safe. I’ll need one of those hugs again down the line. ♥️
