Yesterday, I had the honor of appearing on the Joan Esposito Show on WCPT, a Chicago-based radio station. I joined for the second hour, where I was interviewed by the incredible Doris Davenport, who was an insightful and dynamic host.
During our conversation, we discussed how white patriarchal norms, practices, policies, and strategies have forced and facilitated women out of the workforce and back into the home. I spoke about the deep and enduring misogyny embedded in this country’s history, including:
The exploitation of Black women’s bodies through slavery, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
The setting of the age of consent and marriage for girls as young as 12.
Rape laws written to protect only white women, while courts established legal precedents denying the very possibility that Black women and girls could be raped.
The present reality, where more than 15 states have passed laws requiring women—even in 2025—to carry to term the children of their rapists.
These examples are part of a consistent and painful truth: America has always hated women.
I made it clear that America is sick. Whiteness, as an ideological, political, economic, and obsessive pursuit of power, is pathological. If we are ever to save this nation from implosion and self-destruction, we must first examine, confront, and tell the truth about who we are and what we have built.
