I am posting this note to convey a deep-hearted thank you to everyone who reached out to check on me as I continue to deal with the fallout from Whiteness, White extremism, and White hatred.
I had not realized how much my work has positively affected people. Rose K., a very special ally, friend, and supporter, made a very generous contribution to my team and me to cover our security details for upcoming in-person speaking engagements. Thank you, Rose. Others of you sent personal notes through my website and/or social media sites, extending words of encouragement to me and my staff.
I cannot tell you how much your support has meant to me! I am immensely grateful for the love, care, and support I have received from you. Please continue thinking good thoughts about me and my work. This is my calling, and I reconciled years ago that I am willing to die for my work, which is my life’s calling and purpose. I do not want to die right now. Yet, I am willing to if it is necessary.
Please understand that I did not choose this path. This path chose me, and I am here for a time, doing what so many others attempted to do. Those others include Harriet Jacobs, Maria Stewart, W.E.B DuBois, Carter G. Woodson, Malcolm X., Fannie Lou Hamer, James Baldwin, Dr. Bobby Wright, Dr. Frances Cress-Welsing, Dr. John Henrik Clark, Dr. Amos Wilson, and so many more of our Black philosophers and teachers who challenged the White supremacy empire called America.
Thank you again to all who have and continue to support me on this journey. It is a journey that is much harder than anyone will ever know.
